About
We are Chip & Chance, based in Churchill, Manitoba, and we run casino-themed offline events for adult guests across Canada. That is the whole business — there is no second thing.
The business
A northern Manitoba function room, a committee with a budget, and a long list of entertainment that does not travel this far.
If you organise events in the north, you learn quickly that most of the entertainment industry is built on the assumption that a van can get to you. Ours was built the other way round. Every table we own breaks down into cases two people can carry, because the first venues we worked in were reached by rail and by air rather than by road.
That constraint turned out to be the business. Venues that other suppliers quote and then quietly decline are routine for us, and clients in Winnipeg, Thompson and further south get the same kit that was designed to survive a freight hold.
The other half of what we do is less visible. A casino-themed evening lives or dies on whether the people running the tables can teach a nervous guest in two minutes and read a room that has gone quiet. We hire for that and train for it, and we would rather send one strong host than two adequate ones.
The position
We sell the sociability of a casino floor and deliberately leave out the only ingredient that makes it gambling: money at stake.
How we operate
The no-money, no-prizes terms are in your quote before you sign. Compliance reviewers can forward them without rewriting anything.
A host who cannot bring a complete beginner into a game in about two minutes does not work our floors. It is the single thing we select for.
Freight, transport and crew accommodation are separate lines. In this part of the country they are often the largest number, and hiding it would be dishonest.
To real stakes, to under-age guests, to rooms that cannot hold what was asked for, and to briefs that want the evening described as gambling.
The crew
Our hosts are hospitality people first. Some came from table work, more came from front-of-house in restaurants and hotels, and the skill that transfers is not card handling — it is noticing the guest standing one step back from the table and inviting them in before they drift away.
Every host is briefed on the same limits before their first event: no money at the table in either direction, no chip purchases, no settlement, and a clear, polite “no” to any guest who asks to play for real. They are also briefed to stop dealing to anyone who has stopped enjoying themselves, which is a judgement we ask them to make quietly and often.
For larger events a named floor lead holds the run sheet and is your single point of contact all evening. You should not have to find four different people to change something.
Behind it
Cases, levelling wedges, spare decks and a prep room in Churchill.
Offline entertainment only. This is strictly offline event entertainment. There is no real-money gambling, no betting, no cash prizes, and no online casino service. Guests play with symbolic chips and points that hold no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for anything of value. Events are for adults aged 18+ and over.
Guests receive unmarked chips or points at the start of the evening. They carry no monetary value, cannot be purchased, cannot be cashed out and cannot be exchanged for anything of value.
Our hosts support your venue in checking age on entry. We do not run events for under-age guests and we do not market to them.
Everything happens in a physical room, with physical tables and a human host. We operate no platform where anyone can play, and no app.
