- No real-money gambling

- No cash prizes

1. The statement
This is strictly offline event entertainment. There is no real-money gambling, no betting, no cash prizes, and no online casino service.
Guests at our events play with symbolic chips or points only. These hold no monetary value, cannot be bought, cannot be cashed out and cannot be exchanged for money or for anything of monetary value. Our events are for adults aged 18+ and over. Minors are not admitted.

2. We do not provide gambling services
Chip & Chance is an event entertainment provider. We are not a gambling operator, a betting operator or an online casino, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of those things.
Specifically, and without exception:
- We do not accept bets, stakes or wagers in any amount or form.
- We do not take money at a table, in either direction.
- We do not sell chips, allow chips to be purchased, or permit top-ups.
- We do not settle, redeem or cash out chips or points.
- We do not award cash prizes or anything of monetary value, and we will not administer such a prize on a client’s behalf.
- We do not accept deposits of any kind from guests.
- We do not broker or facilitate gambling through any third party.
- We do not operate a website, platform or application on which anybody can play.
These limits are contractual, not aspirational. They appear in our Terms & Conditions, they are in every quote we issue, and we will decline a booking that asks us to depart from them. We have done so.
3. Offline entertainment only
Everything we do happens in a physical room, at a time and place arranged with a client, using physical tables run by a human host who is present in the room.
There is no online component. You cannot play on this website. There is no app, no account, no login, no balance and nothing to download. This website exists to describe the service and to let an organiser request a quote.
4. Adults only — 18+
Every event we deliver is restricted to adults aged 18+ and over. Where a venue, a province or a client policy sets a higher minimum age, that higher age applies instead — we always work to the strictest requirement in the room.
- Our hosts support the venue’s age checks at the door.
- A host will not run a table for a guest who appears to be below the applicable age and cannot confirm otherwise.
- We will close a table rather than allow under-age participation.
- We do not market to anyone under 18+, and we do not depict minors or anyone who appears to be under 18+ in any imagery we produce.
Responsibility for the guest list sits with the client, as set out in clause 4 of our Terms & Conditions.
5. Symbolic chips and points
Chips are scorekeeping counters and nothing more. They are issued free of charge and in equal quantities to every guest at the start of the event.
They are deliberately printed without denominations, without numbers and without currency symbols, because a chip marked with a value implies something redeemable, and nothing at our tables is. Where a client has ordered branded chips, those carry the client’s mark and remain unmarked by value.
A client may recognise the guests who finish with the most chips — a trophy, a toast, a mention at the close, or a non-monetary gift. That recognition is the client’s to arrange. It is never a payout, and we will not administer anything of monetary value.
6. If gambling has been a problem for you
We want to be direct about something that the absence of money does not resolve.
Our events contain the visual and social language of a casino: a wheel, a dealt hand, chips moving across felt, the sound of a table. For someone who has experienced difficulties with gambling, that environment can be uncomfortable or genuinely harmful, whether or not any money is involved.
If gambling has been a problem for you, or you are in recovery, we would encourage you not to take part in a casino-themed event, even one with no real money at stake. Choosing to attend the wider event and not go near the tables is an entirely reasonable decision, and nobody at one of our events will be asked to explain it.
If you are organising an event and you know or suspect this applies to someone on your guest list, please consider it when planning the room. We are glad to discuss a layout that leaves a clear social space away from the tables, and we can run a shorter table window so that the evening is not built entirely around them.
7. Guidance for event organisers
- Make participation optional in practice, not just in theory. If the tables are the only thing happening, not joining in becomes conspicuous. Keep a bar, a seating area or another focus in the room.
- Do not build incentives around the tables. Attaching a meaningful reward to chip standings changes the character of the evening and we will advise against it.
- Avoid “win” language in your invitations. Guests should arrive knowing this is themed entertainment. We will supply wording if that helps.
- Brief your own hosts. If a senior person at your organisation is pressing guests to play, that is a problem no supplier can fix from the floor.
- Think about alcohol. The two in combination are where discomfort usually arises. Our crew will step back from a table where a guest has had too much, but the service itself is yours.
8. How our crew are briefed
Every host is briefed, before their first event and again at each pre-event briefing, that:
- no money comes to the table and none leaves it;
- chips cannot be bought, topped up or settled;
- a guest asking to play for real stakes is told no, clearly and politely;
- a guest who declines to play is invited once and then left alone;
- a guest who appears uncomfortable is not drawn in, however good the intention;
- play stops for a guest who is intoxicated to a degree that makes participation inappropriate;
- any concern is raised with the floor lead rather than handled alone.
Our hosts are asked to make these judgements quietly, without drawing the room’s attention to the guest concerned.
9. Where to find help in Canada
The information below is provided as general, neutral information for anyone who may need it. We have no partnership, affiliation or relationship of any kind with these organisations, and we do not endorse or speak for them.
- Canadian Problem Gambling Helpline
- 1‑800‑463‑1554 — or contact the problem gambling helpline for your own province or territory, which may offer services in additional languages and local referral.
- Provincial and territorial services
- Each province and territory funds its own problem gambling support services, including free counselling. Search for the service in your province, or ask your family doctor or a community health centre for a referral.
- Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA)
- ccsa.ca — national information and resources on substance use and addiction, including behavioural addictions.
- In an emergency
- If you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 911. For mental health crisis support in Canada, the 988 Suicide Crisis Helpline is available by call or text at 988.
Telephone numbers and services can change. Please verify current details with the organisation directly or through a provincial health service.
10. Questions or concerns
If you have a question about this notice, a concern about an event we are delivering, or a request about how the tables are run for a particular guest list, contact us directly:
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: +1 204 675 8879
- Post: Chip & Chance, 154 Kelsey Blvd, Churchill, MB R0B 0E0, Canada
We would rather have an awkward conversation before an event than an uncomfortable one afterwards.
