Why we are built this way

Being based in Churchill changes the equipment list

You cannot run an event business from northern Manitoba on the assumption that a van can get there.

Our base is Churchill, which has no road connection to the rest of the province. Everything we own had to be capable of travelling without a truck before we could take a single booking, so the whole kit list was chosen around flight cases, freight dimensions and two people being able to carry each piece.

The useful side effect is that venues other suppliers decline are ordinary work for us. A community hall at the end of a winter road, a lodge reachable only by air, a function room up two flights of stairs with no service lift — these are logistics problems rather than reasons to say no.

It also means our quotes are unusually explicit about travel. Freight, flights or rail, crew accommodation and the time the journey takes all appear as separate lines, because in this part of the country they are frequently a larger number than the tables themselves, and you should be able to see that rather than discover it.

  • Flight-cased. Every table breaks down to pieces two people can carry.
  • Separate travel lines. Freight, transport and accommodation itemised, never buried.
  • Load-in and strike included. We build it, we take it away, we leave the room clean.

The delivery

What arrives, and what happens to it

What we bring

  • Full-size tables in flight cases, built on site
  • Table dressing, lighting and accessories
  • Unmarked symbolic chips in equal stacks per guest
  • Cards, shoes, wheels and spares for all of them
  • A trained host for each table, in formal dress

What the venue needs

  • A level floor — wheels are levelled on site regardless
  • A doorway and route we can carry cases along
  • Unloading access reasonably close to the door
  • A standard power outlet for table lighting
  • A confirmed window for load-in and strike

What we handle for you

  • Freight booking and tracking to the venue
  • A run sheet shared with your venue contact
  • Certificates of insurance sent to the venue directly
  • Age-check support at the door, with your venue
  • Strike, pack and a clean room at the end

Hire always includes hosts. An unhosted table stands empty — if you have your own trained crew, look at crew-only hire instead.

Scale

Typical hire configurations

A starting point for a conversation rather than a menu. Your floor plan decides the final count.

Running time is up to 6 hours in all configurations. Chips are symbolic throughout, with no buy-in and nothing to settle.

Hire questions

Access, distance and logistics

Do you really travel to fly-in communities?

Yes — it is part of why the kit is built the way it is. Our tables break down into flight cases that meet standard freight dimensions, which means they can travel by rail or in a cargo hold rather than needing a truck and a loading dock.

Freight, travel and crew accommodation appear as separate lines on your quote. You should be able to see exactly what the distance costs instead of finding it folded into a day rate.

Can we hire tables without hosts?

We would rather not, and in most cases we will say no. An unhosted table gets admired for ten minutes and then stands empty for the rest of the evening, because nobody wants to be the person who admits they do not know the rules.

If you have your own trained crew, that is a different conversation — see hosts and croupiers, which works in reverse: our people, your tables.

What do you need at the venue?

A level floor, a doorway we can carry cases through, somewhere to unload reasonably close by, and a standard power outlet if you want table lighting. That is genuinely the whole list.

Stairs are fine if we know about them in advance. Lifts with a very short depth are the one thing that occasionally defeats us, so measure yours if you are unsure.

How late can you strike?

As late as your venue allows. Strike takes about an hour for a three-table set, and we will build it into the run sheet so your venue knows exactly when the room comes free.
